rquired to put in network password to turn on computer

About 3 days ago when I turned on my Asus laptop I began getting a request to enter my wifi network (Verizon) password. This has never happened before. I can't understand why I need to enter this even when I am not planning to use the internet. Is this an Asus or Window's 10 problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Sounds like someone accidentally logged in with a online account.

Use this link to disable that and switch back to a local account.

Thx for the helpful response. It turns out that automatic logon had been disabled--probably via one of the recent W 10 updates. It had also enabled my touchpad which I had previously disabled. It appeared I had to log into my network to get on the computer because I had used the same password for both the computer and the network. So your more elegant suggestion was not needed. But I appreciate your assistance.
