After the first update of the apple watch, the screen became only a red exclamation mark?

Your watches battery likely has a problem as the update failed which is a stressful process. If you moved the watch off the charging puck during the update that can also effect things.

Apple extended the warranty on the Apple Watch so it should be covered. Get to an Apple Store and have them take a look.
