when installing new battery the horn sounds. how to stop this?

As soon as the system gets electricity, the horn sounds in an off and on pattern. How can I stop this and install the battery. Alternatively, where is the horn wire to disconnect it?

Check if you are connecting the correct battery terminals.

Answering my own question: Hook up the battery, then use the remote (car alarm button) to turn off the horn.

What if you don't have a key fob

If the beeping persists because your key fob does not work or has a low battery itself, endure the beep until you can start the engine of your vehicle.

Start the car, put in reverse, drive and shut off the engine.
