'Wake up' sound. But it's not doing anything

So when my mac (early '15 current iOS) is asleep, and I press the keyboard to 'wake' it. It makes a quick whirring and then some crackles which I assume is it 'gearing up' to.. do stuff. A computer stretch and yawn if you will,

However.. sometimes it makes this noise when I'm nowhere near it and nothing is setting it off.. the screen doesn't turn on but the noises go.

Occasionally it does this in a cycle to the point I have to turn it off as trying to sleep with that going off every two minutes is tricky. Other times it may only do it up to say, 4-5 times before it stops.

Any ideas why my mac is talking in its sleep? Should I be worried?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Please tell us your exact machine. The info is one the bottom of the stand or in About the Mac under the Apple. What kind of virus protection program do you have?

iMac. So the desktop. I'm not at home right now. But it's the early 2015 model I'm pretty sure. Maybe retina?

No third party. So whatever (if any) is built in.

First, please check to see if you have a disk in the optical drive. On a standard keyboard there is an eject key in the upper right hand corner or you can restart holding down the mouse button.
