shantapanchu a F28 error code is a common problem indicating that there is a communication problem with the central control unit. Any error code can be caused by a electrical anomaly. try to reset your washer. This reset might work but will depend on your specific model. To clear and restart the control follow the these steps:
Unplug your washer for 10 minutes.
Reconnect the washer
Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the display.

Mine did the same thing. Ran diagnostic test and stopped at c02 time with error code F28
Didn't work.
Had the same issue! Mine was a simple door malfunction. I unplugged the washer power cord; plugged it back in. Then I opened and closed the door a couple of times and turned it back on. Seems to be working fine now. Good luck!

What is the model number of the washer?
I have Whirlpool duet steam washer that won’t wash clothes and had F28 code. I’ve done the restart. I’ve unplugged for ten minutes and tried again. I took too off to see if any central control unit wires unplugged. I unplugged and repligged those wires. It still starts then stops with error code and door won’t unlock. What else can I try to fix it? Model and is WFW9550WW00

If you need to unlock the door to get clothes out like me, I took removed the bottom panel and was able to reach a pull tab that releases the door lock. The instructions to do this were located in a diagnostic manual in a sleeve inside the machine. I am getting the F28 code, happened mid cycle with my stuff still in.
