The original home button stopped working so I ordered one from here to replace it... After installing the new home button the phone does not work at all. If I unplug the new home button the phone turns on and works. Any suggestions?

If new home button prevents phone from turning on and old one doesn't then the replacement home button is faulty.

iPhone will turn on if I unplug the new home button, but will work with the old buttons plug in

What iPhone is it .?? Are you sure you didn't over Bend the ribbon.
