Still stuck mystery screen problems argh!

So to cut this short do the sponge bits behind the clips for clipping on the lcd / front panel matter? I'm getting major problems (screens not fitting) and I'm wondering if this is part of it. Also can the ribbon cables push up too hard sometimes? Tnx.

Update (07/11/2017)

Ah yes it did sound a bit like i ment that part. But i mean the clips on the side of the phones frame that the front panel pushes into to hold it. The originals seem to have sponge behind them but my sets are without them. Like this:

So i need to add the sponge? I can't seem to find it for sale. Thanks

The dark grey foam that goes on top of the ribbon cables that connect to the logic board FPC connectors?

They are optional and not required.

The phone's metal frame isn't bent or dented in the corners right?

If you are getting no touch, ghost touching then it's probably a bad screen.

Well I'm told the sponge on these parts are not necessary. Though i do wonder about how loose they can be... I'm moving on to checking for any slight bends but i have lots if frames so it seems unlikely.
