Starts missing after two min of mowing

Just got a used Murray 425001x8 riding mower. Runs great. After two min or so of the deck engaged it starts running bad, like it's missing. If I disengage the deck it runs great. Let it sit five min, I get another two min. Please help.

@daddyherb sounds like your engine is bogging down under a load. Start by cleaning the carb as well as the plug(s). Take a look at the plug face and see what it looks like black/brown/oily etc. Check your float and needle valve for proper setting as well as the air/idle setting. Check the mower deck to ensure all pulleys are moving easily etc. If you can let us know what engine make and model your mower has so that we can possibly assist you with a more detailed answer.

I drained the gas and put a new fuel filter on it. Filed with pure gas. Plug looked good but plug wire had been pulled out and redone. It had white powder on it. Fixed that. Runs great now. Thank you.
