Not possible, as you need a converter to perform signal conversion,

from digital to analog.

No. An HDMI signal is completely digital, while a RCA connection is completely analog. You will need an adapter. If your TV has a VGA connection, you will need an adapter, but those are cheaper and support high resolution.

Hope this helps!

In that case, can a DIY addapter be made to to convet the signal? What function does the adapter perform to acheive this conversion? Add or remove resistance.....power.....wattage?

What do the adapter manufacturers have that we don't in our home shops? Where may I view a tutorial on exactly what the converter does and how the wiring splice is performed to acheive this conversion?
