Glitchy Black Screen After Replacement

Hey there. After replacing the screen on my iPhone 6s I went to turn it on and received nothing but a black screen. I understand people have had problems putting the screws back in place for the metal sheet above the connections but this isn't the case here as I have yet to put that back in place. The phone turns on and vibrates when I get notifications and such, and after pressing the power button a number of times I sometimes get the screen to light up for a split second before it immediately goes dark again. I've yet to see anything like this and I was just wondering if anybody has any knowledge they can pass on to me for this issue.

Thanks!

Update 1:

Seems to be a problem with the backlight but still unsure as to why I can occasionally get it to work?

You definitely have a backlight problem.

Now, you may just have a defective screen so the first thing to try is to put the original, cracked screen in place to see if it lights up properly. If it does, that would indicate a defective replacement screen. If the original screen also doesn't light up, then you have a blown backlight circuit on the logic board. As a final test, shine a bright flashlight against the screen. If you see a dim image...then backlight issue is confirmed.

This requires a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.
