Looks like it does support both. Use the below manual to upgrade it.

Hope this helps!

It's easy. I have a similar model, and I replaced my SSD. A PDF of the manual is at this link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03...

Go to Page 44 and just follow the instructions.

Good luck,

Russ

thank you for the reply, since my current ssd is sandisk with m+b key socket, will it accept the m key socket for the samsung evo 960 ?

I do not think so. Your current drive is mSATA. The EVO960 is PCIE. You should be able to find suitable replacement in mSATA.

No, my current SSD is M.2 SATA, the plan is to buy a PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD

Please pay more attention to my model number which doesnt have mSATA at all in the SSD socket.

tele4g, I seriously doubt it's a hybrid slot. You only see hybrid slots on desktop motherboards. It's probably just SATA M.2.

There may be support for PCIe in this laptop. Some models come with a PCIe SSD, but that may not mean one that comes with SATA may support it. I will do more research. In the meantime, check out the service manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05...
