Headphone jack cable replacement

Where can I get info on how to reattach the button holders for the flex cable? There is not one guide on the internet and this is frustrating.

I have answered this already... please only ask the question one time.

I learned to do this repair only by reading this guide! You need to study something first before jumping in, read the guide/check the phone/check the cable/ work it out in your head. There are no other guides as you don't need them. Have you tried removing the jack? Once you have done the removal then the replacement should be easy.

as it says at the bottom of the guide-to replace simply reverse the steps. i have done this repair many times and you need nothing other than the replacement jack. Re read the guide and perhaps it will make more sense- the part you will remove is identical to the one you will replace.

As I stated... button holders are already disconnected so how can I reverse the steps when it does not include removing teh button holders? Please read before you post. Can anyone here please provide some info? Perhaps someone with the details on how to do this with the button holders? I would be very appreciative.

right!

is the part you have this http://cgi.ebay.com/Iphone-3G-Headphone-...

or this?

iPhone 3G/3GS Headphone Jack Assembly

as you can see not quite the same.

we try very hard to answer questions but can only go on the information you give us. saying that the button holders are already disconnected doesn't really make things clear. Disconnected from the phone? from the flex? from the buttons?
