@bdocast1953 it would help if you give as a bit more information. The only other "wires" would be your hold switch/audio jack wire, the display cable , or the battery wire. For the battery wire, you will have to replace the battery. If it is the display cable, you will need a new LCD and for the audio jack you will need a new one of those. You also need to know if it is a 30GB or the thicker 60/80GB model. Headphone Jack/Hold switch iPod 5th Gen display iPod 5th Gen Battery and use these guides for the repair. If unsure, post some images of the broken "wires" with your question. Use this guide for that.
