Why don't my phone show battery percent

i switched off my phone in the morning and when i turned on my phone it doesn't show battery percentage. i have switched off and again turn on, i have turned battery percent on and off but nothing happen

Perhaps too many status bar icons on the top right along with the time centered on the screen?

Had that happen before on a iPhone 5 series phone and it would only display it while charging when there's too many icons to the right.

You can toggle Battery Percentage display in status bar via:

Settings > Battery > Battery Percentage > Toggle slider to right (enabled) if you are on iOS 10.
