are the screens repairable?

can the screen be fixed if it was dropped and now there are black spots all over it.

Hi,

sorry but there is no way to repair the display itself. As you have to open the iPod anyway, buy an new display in the parts store or on ebay and simply replace it.

If you buy an new/used display be careful. The displays of the 5th and 6th Gen iPods look nearly the same and have the same connector, but they don't work in the other Gen iPod.
