Replace my keyboard with one from a 15 inch Macbook pro model A1260?
Somebody's parting out their macbook pro model a1260. Can I replace my dead-key keyboard with his? I have a model a1226.

In terms of form factor, they are identical, but have function keys. So the keyboard will definitely fit (this sounds like a stupid thing to say, but the A1150 and A1211 keyboards will not fit in the A1226 or A1260 machines), but I can't comment on software compatibility.
I do know that the MacBooks recognize the new function layout on older machines without a problem, so it's definitely worth a try (and is a reasonably easy replacement).
