PowerBook G4 Titanium DVI Eject Problems

Hey, as you know I got the PowerBook working. But the is a problem. when I inserted a disc (trying to install new software) and tried to eject it, it just loaded up again( I pressed the eject button and it disappeared and then booted back up. Any ideas to get it out? Reply back.

Another way is to type "drutil eject" (without the quotes) in terminal.

From the way you describe it "loading up again", it sounds like the CD is finding resistance as it ejects, and so it goes back into the drive. This is very common. If this is the case, I'd remove the bottom casing of your machines (very easy -- just remove the screws and pull the bottom off) and from there you can manipulate the elements which would be blocking the optical drive.

Try booting up the laptop while holding down the trackpad button.

The easiest way to eject any disk from a Powerbook is too hold down the mouse button when starting the computer. This has been in the OS since Mac OS 8.5. I have used this several and have told others with success every time.
