Why my iPhone 3G phone signal is very weak?

MY IPHONE 3G PHONE SIGNAL IS VERY WEAK. iF I AM NEAR TO SIGNAL TOWER IT CATCHES GOOD, BUT IF IAM FAR FROM SIGNAL TOWER MY IPHONE READING 1 OR 2 BARS. SO THAT I AM MISSING LOT OF CALLS. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE SOLUTION.

siva, I do not think that there is a solution. It sounds to me that it is related to your service provider. If you have no other problems with your iPhone other than poor service, I'd be calling my service provider to find out about their coverage.

There is no problem from service provider. Because all other Iphones( of my friends) working fine with full signal.

If your friends have the same phone, just compare their settings to yours and see if it makes a difference. I am concerned to tellyou that there is an antenna or reception problem if you have an otherwise fully functioning phone with no other problems. I wouldn't want to give you any bad advise but sometimes a new sim card can make a difference.

Have you dropped or opened phone? Maybe dock connector which has antenna connection on it has been damaged
