What do you mean by "primary location" and "secondary location."

What's different with your set ups at the two locations? What added peripherals are you using at each? Are you using a hardwired ethernet connection at either? When you say it freezes, is it locking up or are you getting beach balls? Are you using different programs?

What happened between those two points? What are the differences in environments? Is your computer up to date?

Thanks guys, As far as I know other than they're 100 miles apart, there's no different settings that I am aware of. There's different internet there but still wifi and of course the Word program is not wifi, I get the beach ball. What's more baffling is that it worked fine at both locations six months ago.

How about taking a look at Activity Monitor (in your Utilities folder) between the two locations. Look at CPU & Network. Is there anything different?

Hi Dan, thank you, I've never opened the activity monitor, don't really know what I'm looking at. I am currently at "secondary location" on vacation so can't compare, but what should I be looking for? And of course I have the spinning beach ball freezing me here (I'm responding on I-pad
