Installazione di xubuntu su pentium4

Ho tentato di installare, da DVD, xubuntu versione 32 bit su un pentium4 CPU 2.60GHz Mainboard P4M266-8235 con 512 Mb di RAM, Hard Disk 80 Gb. Non succede nulla. Continua a rimanere sulla schermata blu di installazione, per molto tempo (uno dei tentativi ho aspettato 1h, ma non installa. Ho provato per scrupolo anche con il DVD della 64 bit: nulla.

Ho provato il boot con System Rescue CD e tutto funziona perfettamente, anche la parte grafica.

Qualcuno mi può aiutare?

I try to unstall Xubuntu, 32bit version, on a pentium4 - CPU 2.60GHz - Mainboard P4M266-8235 with 512 Mb of RAM and Hard Disk 80 Gb. Nothing happens. It rest on the blue installation screen for a very long time (until 1h). I try the 64 bit version, just to be certain: nothing the same

I try to boot with System Rescue CD and it is ok. the grafical environment too.

Someone may help me?

dovresti trovare la distro precisa. quei pacchetti sono ormai ottimizzati per l'hardware di oggi. di ubuntu dovresti trovare la 10.10 oppure una xfce. lo sviluppo è ormai chiuso su quell'hardware devi armarti di pazienza. esempio. anche se la distro è per 32 bit. questo non indica vecchio o nuovo. il kernel è ottimizzato per processori e ram più recenti. devi trovare le vecchie distro tipo knoppix o xfce. il problema sarà ottimizzare tutto. ma puó essere anche un ottimo passatempo

Anche io avevo provato su un ibm t40 con un centrino 1.6 ghz (più o meno stessa epoca) e ho avuto problemi a oltrepassare grub con ubuntu (a proposito... quale versione?).

Però ricordo che compariva un codice di errore e quindi ero riuscito a risolvere.

Ad ogni modo con così poca ram ti consiglio di installare lubuntu, altrimenti se ti va di sperimentare puoi provare viperr(che si basa però su fedora) o una debian minimal, così poi la gui la installi in un secondo momento. magari prova con un cdrw o un dvdrw così se non hai successo non devi sprecare dischi.

Il tuo computer sarà anche vecchiotto, tieni conto che un raspberry pi model b lavora con 700 Mhz di cpu e 512 MB di ram eppure funziona... e qui la versione di raspberry pi desktop x86
