Apple SE port damage

What would cause port damage to a Apple SE. Only 18 days old

A bad copy lightning cable or wall charger / car charger. Is it physical damage? I know that if the lightning cable plug is too large it may permanently push the pins down.

Should be covered under warranty hopefully.

Water. I would guess water. If it's just the lightning dock/port. You could replace that. If it is water damage, you probably won't be able to get warranty out of it
