Lawn tracktor shuting down

Hi Help please

can someone tell me why our Lawn tracktor keeps shuting off after about a min. Or two ? Once it is cool down it will start back up again. Just before it shuts down some blue smoke come out of the Eng area. We have a 13 horse power craftsman Briggs Stratton (model) 28m707. Type 0 142-01.

Thank you in advance Gary

@gary54, Gary, Do try running with the gas cap removed temporarily to see if runs better,if it does the cap vent hole may be plugged restricting fuel. Since you state you are seeing a blue puff of smoke from engine area before engine quit, possible head gasket blown or partially, which gets worse as engine temperature warms. Other possible problems bad fuel, fuel line collapsing/pinched, dirty fuel filter, dirt in carburetor, faulty fuel shut off solenoid(if equipped), fouled plugs, weak coil(remove plug and check for good spark when engine quits), bad wire, worn parts internal(low compression), low oil safety switch or safety switch faulty(check connections), etc.. Check links below for more on trouble shooting small engines. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
