@allankjel,Allan, Probable bad flapper or fill valve. A worn/faulty flapper could be the issue by allowing water to leak past. A failing fill valve can prevent a toilet tank from filling properly, or cause the toilet to fill continuously. The toilet flapper opens to allow water to flow from the toilet tank into the bowl when the toilet is flushed. Afterwards, it closes as the toilet tank fills back up. If water is constantly flowing from your toilet tank, chances are your flapper is not functioning properly and will require a replacement. Link below is a installation guide for replacement flapper and fill valve. A lot of plumbers will suggest to change both at the same time as insurance, as one fails very possible for the other piece to fail in near future, and the replacement parts are normally low cost. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

I'm not a professional plumber but my friend teach me how to stop running toilet easily. I thought this tips will help you to fix almost 90% of running toilet problems.

1. Check the toilet fill valve & tube:

Then main reason behind running toilet is the toilet fill valve, so get a good toilet fill valve to avoid fill valve problem.

2. Adjust the float:

If the float isn't in the water level, adjust it and set to the water level. Keep adjusting it until the water shuts off at the perfect level.

3. Adjust the chain & handle:

Sometimes loose or hard chain & handle cause running toilet, cut off the excess chain and adjust it properly.

You can provide your water flow control with the adjustable float in your water tank. You should carefully control the float adjustment. If you set it too high, your filling valve will not close. You can get detailed information from Best Toilet Fill & Flush Valve ; you can choose the most suitable valve for you.
