How to source displays?

Hi all,

I was roaming the internet to compare all some displays, but I found it nearly impossible to get a good overview of all different supplier with their different models.

I found this site http://www.yslcd.com.tw which was somewhat usefull but I didn't found it was fully up to date.

Do you guys now some good alternatives?

Thanks!

Go on AliExpress, order a sample from one supplier (or multiple), check the quality, then order from them direct in future. This is how most people order parts, and if you speak to certain suppliers (for example, one who deals in Apple parts), they will usually stock most parts for all Apple products. If you have a good relationship with the supplier, and place regular big orders, you will get bigger discounts.

Reece,

Thanks for the answer, but as AliExpress is good for a small batch of products.

The products which we intend to produce stay in the market for a period of 15 years. The suppliers need to be reliable for mass production with a certain production guarantee, so that we don't have to redesign the product. Therefore I am looking for a sort of overview of what is available on the market and afterwards we'll try to contact the supplier in person to discuss further.

AliExpress/Alibaba are good for samples of products, you just have to contact the suppliers on the website and ask about their supply ability, then order direct from them in bigger quantities. What exactly do you want displays for? If you are not looking to buy these displays to refurbish/repair devices (as I thought), and more so to manufacture a product, it would be better to contact the big companies direct (Samsung, LG, Sharp, AUO, etc)

Hey Reece, thanks for the response. I'll look into it further.
