The rechargable battery has died I guess.. can I replace it myself?

I haven't used it for a couple of years and I think it's battery is out of its function.

I tried open the cover and replace it wish new one but I don't know what batter I should buy or where to buy...

I don't know how I do the wiring as well.

Can any one help?

Hi,

Here is a link to a video which shows how to replace the battery in your reader.

Unfortunately it doesn't show how to open the reader but it looks like it is like most tablet type devices and that the cover is just 'clipped' on and has to be pried open.

To obtain a new battery, once you have the reader open you should be able to get the battery part or model number information, which is printed on the battery itself, and search online using that information to find suppliers of the battery.

it seems feasible but does involve some soldering skills as mentioned here

myself tried the procedure of “just changing” the battery on a PRS-950, without soldering whatsoever, to no avail.

so , yes, it should be possible,
