Ghost typing on an old LG Optimus phone---->> types by itself

Hi there,

So I have an old LG Optimus phone. Recently it has been ghost typing, the letter "p" keeps reoccurring, and it types by itself.

Sometimes, when I hit a button nothing happens. Sometimes the screen moves by itself (as if I am swiping).

1. What is going on / wrong with the phone?

2. If it is the digitizer? how hard is it to repair?

There is no screen protector.

tydomtestudeer what exact model Optimus is this. There are a few different once out there. If you provide us with that information we should get you a mode definite answer.

OK I found the digitizer, but it does not come with tools........

Can someone please tell the name and type of screwdriver I should buy to repair this?

Damage to the digitizer. Well..its do able. Those phones usually can remove the back, then the logic board, then separate display from the mid frame. It also depends on which model. They made a few of those Optimus. Cost of parts should be relatively cheap

You 100% sure its the digitizer? I saw a video on youtube where the guy uses duct tape to repair the same problem on a tablet .

I mean, yeah. I'm 100% sure. If you wanna give the duct tape thing a shot, go for it. Couldn't do more harm than good. Basically it won't do anything. Not to mention them you're sitting there with a duct device. Ha, I like that

tydomtestudeer that makes your phone a LG Optimus 4X HD. Use this video to change your digitzer/display. Cost will be around $20USD. Duct tape and anything else is not going to fix things permanently, if at all. think about it this way, if it is not your digitizer (very likely)that has failed, then it is the components on your logicboard that failed (unlikely).
