Trackpad/going to sleep not working after display replacement

I changed my display assembly and afterwords my trackpad started acting glitchy. After ensuring the connection was connected several times the trackpad completely stopped working. Also when the display lid is closed the computer does not go to sleep but I do notice a magnetic pull when closing. The keyboard works fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello my name is Walker and it sound like your issue is a shorted connection between the trackpad and the logic board. This also my have been a issue within the trackpad it's self. The other issues you are having with it not sleeping would be the light sensor this means that you might have put the sensor in back word or just a little different than what it originally was.

If you have any questions about this please comment below. If this fixed your problems please give me a thumbs up thank you.

Hi Walker,

Thanks, I ordered a new trackpad ribbon hoping that is the issue. If not then I may replace the trackpad. Would you happen to know where the light sensor is?

Thanks again!

The light sensor is typical the same on all Apple Mac books this will help you find it https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/ig...

This should be the same thing that you see.
