Why did my Barista become unresponsive after losing steam pressure?

A while back, on one or two occasions, my Barista would lose pressure in the middle of steaming milk. I decided to descale it before using it again and see if that fixed the problem before thinking more drastically. However, when I turned it on next to begin descaling, the machine is completely unresponsive. I tried it in multiple outlets, and also tested the steam wand and portafilter separately. No sounds. No heat. I just read in another question's answers that I should test the fuses above the boiler. Would that seem like the next logical step?

Yes; if you ran the boiler empty (happens naturally during steaming) but didn't refill it before heating again then you may have overheated the machine and tripped the thermal breaker (fuse) on the top of the boiler. I would check that fuse first.
