Troubleshooting and repair information for the ASUS ROG G751 gaming laptop. Released in 2014.

Disassembled ROG G751JL and now Screen is "Dead"

I did this as a screw got stuck in the CPU fan. After the fan was saved, I started reconnecting everything back. I turned it on and noticed that the screen wasn't turning on anymore. However, I can still connect to an external monitor and everything works fine.

Going into Device Manager, I can see that the monitor is shown as working properly but it may not be getting power? Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Did you damage anything in the process? Remove and plug back in the display cable and see if it makes a difference.

I found out what happened. The North Bridge on the motherboard popped. RIP.

Rip man, you can still use as a desktop though

Nah I can't lol! That's the North Bridge! Without it nothing communicates with each other.

? You said it worked with an external monitor

by

It did. North Bridge was faulty, causing the issue. It finally killed itself haha.
