It might have a bad USB. Did u also give it a PRAM reset?

I am going to try it today with a different USB.
Yes I did try to reset the PRAM too, but after it doesn't chime I don't think that will help.

What about single user mode? Can you boot to SUM, then run fsck?
Will it boot to repair mode (CMD-R) during power on?

No, none of them works.
I would be really glad just to see something other than that white screen.
Btw, the fans are spinning at normal speed.
