Door opener not working

I have a Kitchenaid microwave model KCMS145JSS0. It is a built-in. I pushed the door opener button and heard a pop. How do I get to the inside of the microwave panel so that I can see what parts broke?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You probably need to take the microwave apart

peteturner07 could be one of the brackets that holds the latch in place or the latch itself that broke. That would be #7 in the diagram.

. The only way to get to it is by disassembling your microwave. Looks like you will need some security Torx screwdrivers to disassemble it. Bit of a PITA since it is a build-in but you need to remove it from the cavity and take it apart. Be ware of the capacitors etc. on a Microwave. There is enough juice on those to provide you with a shocking experience. Do not touch anything unless you have properly discharged the caps.
