Why is my camera taking grainy pictures?

Every time I take a picture the images come out really grainy and don't look very good? Is something wrong or am I just a bad photographer?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

depends on the lighting and ISO settings.

if its super dark out and you have the ISO set really high itll come out grainy.

try messing with the ISO settings. the lower the less grainy itll be BUT if its dark outside and you have the ISO low it might take dark pictures.

"In Digital Photography ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same principles apply as in film photography – the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light and the finer the grain. Higher ISO settings are generally used in darker situations to get faster shutter speeds."

hope this helps
