Not charging with certified iPhone cables

My phone currently doesn't charge with an Apple certified iPhone cable.

But it charges with a 3rd party, non-certified iPhone cable.

What could be the problem?

Ian Amanté , Apple certified iPhone cable is bad, test it if you can with a DVOM.

Apple Pushed a Update that gives it the ability to recognize fake cables once you use one it will never accept genuine chargers Its a stupid thing implenmented by apple to !#^& people off.

Chosen Solution

Most of the time, I usually try to install a new charging port flex cable to see if this solves the issue. If the issue still persist, then the issue lies within the motherboard and would require some motherboard work.

@lax21baumann I went to a nearby small convenient phone repair shop & had him inspect my phone & he tried using a different charging port flex cable on it, but to no avail. Not sure if he's an expert (bc he doesn't look like it's his profession, just his hobby I would assume), but he said it could be a software issue, or a motherboard issue. Since he didn't seem sure with himself, I asked here. But now that you're the second person to say it's a possible motherboard issue, I guess that must be it. Thank you.
