This version of macOS 10.11.6 cannot be installed on this computer

Hi guys, Hope all goes well with you.

I have MacBook Pro (15", Mid 2009), presently OS-X EI Capitan 10.11.6 on it.

I want to upgrade my OS to MacOS Sierra but when I try to download Sierra from App store it tells me my OS-X 10.11.6 cannot be upgraded on this computer.

Anyone knows how can I upgrade my Mac is there any other way to install macOS Sierra?

@jdqurashi1294 Apple makes this restriction for a reason, your Macbook will run slower and inefficient on Sierra.

What is the main reason you want to upgrade?

Not every update does things better for your Macbook

Sadly, El Capitan is the last OS your system will run.

Your system really doesn't have the needed power & resources to run Sierra. Many of the features Sierra has requires updated services like WiFi & Bluetooth as well as much more CPU power & RAM.

I would recommend you look at getting a used i5 or i7 based system as it will support Sierra.
