Lines on screen horizontally and flickering

I have an iPad Air that has horizontal lines all through the screen. The sreeen also flickers on and off rendering the iPad useless. I just put a new LCD and digitizer and it's doing the same thing. Any ideas on what could still be causing this?

New LCD (I was wondering if the spot that was missing the coating could be an issue? It came that way)

Was this the original problem, or did this happen after a repair for something else, like a broken digitizer?

My initial thought would be that this is a bad LCD. However if it worked before and only went bad after a repair, I would look at the LCD connector on the logic board to see if it is damaged or if there are any missing components in line with the LCD drive circuitry.

This was the original problem, and also why I thought LCD was bad. I will go take a look at the connector on the logic board and LCD.

Did the iPad suffer an impact or water? You could also check the LCD drive circuitry if you're into that kinda thing. Let me know if you want more details.

I purchased this as a refurbished unit and I forgot to buy the square trade support. About 6 months after purchased I started seeing this issue. Mostly when my son was watching videos or playing games. It was fine for email web surfing. Eventually it started happening all the time rendering it useless. No impacts or water damage. It's been in an otter box case since the day we purchased it. I too a few more pictures and will post above.

The new LCD should definitely not have the black coating stripped away like that. The traces may be damaged or at the very least coming into contact with the metal backplate of the LCD.

You said the original LCD also had a problem. Were they the exact same kind of lines or something a little different?

Same kind of lines
