vcirjau , Use the loading and leveling tutorial(1st link) below and see if machine sounds better after trying the recommendations. Problems could be faulty balance ring, front shocks, rear shocks, bearings, rear drum support, etc., machine would have to be disassembled and checked for warn/damaged parts. 2nd link shows an exploded view of the parts of machine. If not wanting to do repair yourself have a good local appliance repairman have a look and estimate repair.Good luck.

I had the exact same problem with my Samsung washer. Loud rumbling on spin and burning smell too. A trusted repairman said not worth fixing because of age and cost of parts - I believe he said the drum needed replacing. Anyway, I’m buying a new washer and WILL NOT be buying any more appliances from Samsung.

Trying putting the machine into diagnostic mode and seeing what error code it gives you. On most Samsungs this is done by moving the delayed start to 17h, then holding down the start button until a bunch of little lights flicker and the display reads AS. Once it reads AS, let go, then push the start button one time. This runs the machine through a series of tests, which when completed will provide error codes you can find the meaning of your error code on line and decide if you want to repair it from there.
