Charging problem after battery replacement

Replaced the battery on my iPad 3 today due to the old battery not charging. The problem I am having is after I replaced the battery the iPad now continuously connects and disconnects while plugged in. I have triple checked all of the connections and everything is plugged in properly and all connections are clean. Any idea as to why this is happening?

Answer this question I have this problem too

When you say you have triple checked the connections, have you checked to make sure the contacts on the battery are making a good connection to the motherboard? Did you test the charging and functionality before closing the iPad back up?

I initially thought that might have been the issue so I put a small shim under the battery contacts. That did not solve the issue. I closed the iPad back up, but it's easy to tear down again if I need to because the adhesive needs replaced.

Sounds like it might not have been the battery that was the culprit in the first place. Do you have a new charging port to try? Worst case scenario it might be an IC issue, more specifically the U2 IC might be fried.

I don't have a new charging port, but I can easily get one. I'll replace it and update.
