Screen stuck on bootable device then restart

Toshiba laptop stuck on screen that says find bootable device and restart. Ive been thru all the youtube answers and the f12 menu wont fix it. What can i do?

elizabethhewlett2013 you are not giving us a lot of information here. It will help if you tell us what model your Toshiba is as well as what OS the computer is using. From what you are saying thus far it sounds like your hard drive has failed. If your computer cannot find the OS it will give you that error message and possibly reboot to find a different drive with the OS on it. You can try and access the BIOS and change the bootable drive to either USB or optical drive. Then use a bootable disk to see if your computer can find that and you can attempt to access your old drive.
