err 40 at power up

Hi,

my camera 5dmk3 power up correctly but it returns err 40. could it be an issue related to the PCB bottom or the DC-DC PCB, what's your opinion regard it?

I tried to load / access to your canon eos 5d mark 3 parts catalog , but it does not loaded. Is it in progress or is it not available?

Thanks in advance

Giorgio

Giorgio Ba err40 is most commonly an electrical error. It can be related to the battery (first thing I'd replace) but also with the flex cables going to the DC-Dc board etc. Not sure why the parts catalog does not download for you. Added it on here==>>EOS 5D Mark III Parts Catalog

The bottom flex cable, between the bottom and main board, if installed backwards, can cause this error. The end with a B on it should be on the bottom board.
