Touch ID not working but home button does after screen replacement OEM

After I did a screen replacement I switched the home button to the other screen. The home button I switched over was the original home button and it worked before the replacement. After the replacement the home button works but touch id does not. The phone isn't showing me the Unable to Active Touch ID like it would normally if the home button was not original it simply isn't working after going to the settings of the phone and going to the passcode settings when I go to add another fingerprint it does not show the image of the fingerprint but the pop up shows up. How do I fix this

Chosen Solution

Have you tried transferring the home button extension cable that is with the large metal plate that goes behind the screen?

There is a chance that the preassembled screen has a faulty home button extension cable if it comes with one.

I have not tried that yet. I will try that tomorrow when I receive the client's phone again
