@jackson17 , Bill , You do not state your full model #, if your washer has a dial on it, with lid closed, push in on dial and turn to desired position and pull out and it should work, mine does. If it is digital controls(key pad), I believe some will not advance, look in manual if you have one, if you do not have a manual do a google search (make,model#,manual) and scroll through the links to get yourself a free user manual.
UPDATE, washer Model # 11022342510 has a spin/rinse setting on the main setting knob for you to select to avoid running entire cycle, turn the knob to this setting. Link below is your installation guide and user manual, which you can select either to download. Good luck.

Model # 11022342510 dial does no pull out or push in.
Bill, your machine has what is called a Drain/Spin Cycle, This cycle uses a spin to shorten drying times for heavy dripping wet items. Select that cycle on the selection Knob to not go through a whole wash cycle. Attached a link to your manual below. Good luck.
