new headphone jack and hold button but the headphone jack still broke

Hi I just replaced the headphone jack and hold button but the headphone jack still doesn't work. I tried resetting the ipod and still nothing any ideas?

@gorgazum you did not tell us what is going on with your headphones. No Sound? Sound on the dock connector? It is not uncommon to receive a bad part, so I would start by once more replacing it. This series iPod is known to have issues with the audio IC. Something to consider if another replacement will not work.

My bad but yeah it wouldn't put out sound through the headphones but will play in the car through the usb. This is the second one I have bought now so should there be something else I should be looking at?

I'd go ahead and get a couple of replacements. Not to expensive and they do have a bit of a high failure rate. Make sure that the ribbon cable connector is properly seated and clean.
