need a read wright head replacemetn
Need help to procure the damaged read wright head for my WD mypassport 1tb hard drive. Can any one help in this please

kesavacool Replacing a read write head on a hard drive is no simple task and there not easy to find. When doing recovery for failed hard drives I have gone out and purchased a complete hard drive of exact type and removed parts from there . There are you tube videos that can help with the process and understand you need a veryclean dust free environment to preform the task. Then once you have completed the task understand that you should immediately make copy of the info your rescuing as the hard drive will fail if you can get it to work at all . My success rate is very low . If your dealing with a stuck head this could be a better solution than replacing the head . Otherwise best of luck and hope this helps

kesavacool besides the great points @jimfixer makes you will also have to post a proper model number. It just is not enough to say it is a WD mypassport 1tb drive. Always post your model and serial number.
