Horizontal lines on display after driver update

Hello everyone!

My notebook: ASUS f751LJ-t6303d

There are multi colored (1purple, 1 green) horizontal "vibrating" lines on the lower part of my display. It also kinda duplicates the upper part, so the lower part is barely visible.

I haven't touched my laptop for over 2 months because of personal reasons. Then I turned it on, everything worked fine, but there was a lot of updating to be done, so I did just that and everything was fine, meaning updating correctly. The next day I was in the middle of a Youtube session (watched like 2-3 vids) when suddenly the display started acting that way. These vibrating horizontal lines appeared out of nowhere.

I plugged in an external monitor and it's working perfectly.... Only the notebook display has a problem, which is why I suspect that it has to do something with the graphic card update or something like that. Problem is that I don't know how to check or fix that.

Could someone please help me?

Hi,

Try starting the laptop in 'safe mode' and see what the laptop's screen is like then. If it is still faulty it is NOT a driver issue as 'safe mode' uses basic drivers. It will be a hardware issue.

Since the external monitor is OK it will either be a video cable problem, a video cable connector problem (at either end - motherboard or screen) or a LCD screen problem.

What OS is installed in the laptop?
