@sultanfire sounds like a microswitch not activating. What exact model is your DVD player?

i have a Sylvania and it has disc in it and it wont move and the screen says open. I tried everything so far and nothing seems to work. only thing I have not done is throw it at the wall which sometimes fixes some of my other things lol.

Does it open from the top? I have a CD player made by gpx that says it's open when it’s closed and I have to press down on the top, which I think can be blamed on a switch that sank a bit so the stud on the door has to go down further to contact the switch.
