How do I get rid of a virus?
i get pop ups and apps download on there own the phone does not hold charge it over heats and because of the pop up i can't operate it and it reboots on its own

Hi,
Because you cannot operate the phone successfully you may have to perform a hard reset to restore the phone to normal functioning.
Unfortunately doing this will erase all your downloaded apps and user data. It will restore the phone to its' factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it.
First turn off the phone and remove any external SD Card (if installed), and then fully charge the battery.
Once the battery is charged, remove the charger and then commence the hard reset (also known as a factory restore).

Be patient, a hard reset takes a little while to perform.

@donelle, if you are successful in following jayeff's instructions, the next step would be to install an antivirus like lookout or AVG, and install an ad blocker software.
