A broken Home button flex should not stop the phone from functioning properly, home button functionality notwithstanding.

If your screen assembly is not working, you either have a defective screen or you damaged something else while doing your own repair.

Go back through this guide and double check all the steps. Also be careful to always disconnect the battery before disconnecting the screen otherwise you may damage the backlight circuit.

So I would try these steps:

  • Double check that the flex connectors are properly seated
  • Visually inspect, preferably with magnification, the condition of the connectors on both the flex cables and the logic board
  • Also look to see if any components appear missing or damaged
  • Shine a flashlight on the screen to see if you have a very dim image. This would be indicative of a blown backlight circuit.

Hopefully your problem is modular in nature otherwise it may require a micro-soldering repair.

Yes, Long Screw Damage is certainly a possible cause. Do you remember if you properly tracked your screws?

Either you blew up the backlight circuit, the display circuit, or caused long screw damage to the bottom left screw if you are holding your phone upright.

All three are very common following DYI repair and sometimes even "expert" repair. We fix all of them very often.

Sometimes it is even a mix of the three :/

Well, you actually have two micro-solderers answering your question...

You can click on our names/avatars to access our profiles. You will see that both @rany and myself do micro-soldering repairs. Rany is closer to you than I am but either way, you will have to mail your phone internationally.

There are others as well who frequently patrol this forum so do some searching on the forums and research the shops on the web and you will have everything you need to make a decision.
