Trouble with repairing home button

Hi,

I have changed the digitizer on my iphone 3g but in doing to seem to have lost the use of the home button. I knocked it when changing the digitizer but put it back as I thought it was. However, it now wont work. Ive looked at guides on youtube but cant see that Im doing anything wrong.

Is there anything in particular that I might be doing wrong to stop the connection from being made? It all looks as it should and the button worked previously.

Thanks

open the phone again-just the front display off. and turn over to look at back of home button-the 2 little gold prongs may just be a bit flattened . try lifting them up a bit.

otherwise you may need to replace the flex- the back of the home button has a little "springy" button to it which can get old and worn out. it's pretty simple to replace, bit of a twist to get the cable through the midframe hole but thats about it. costs a few dollars on ebay
