htc evo backlight not working

the phone works fine, i can make calls, receive them. text, surf the net and everything. but there is not backlight. took it to sprint and they tried replacing the screen and it didnt fix the problem. can the backlight just stop working and is there a way to fix it. i have to shine light on the phone while holding the phone at an angle for me to be able to see whats on the screen. email me back at illpoetictragedy@gmail.com please if you have any idea. i'm assuming the zag invisible shield is what caused it possibly from slight water leaking in some how.

Options

Did they try replacing the digitizer (the touchscreen) or the LCD screen? It sounds like you need a new LCD screen. If that doesn't work, the connection for your LCD screen might be blown.

Carol GoogleMeNot makes a lot of sense to me. I definitely agree with the conclusion that you will need a new LCD at minimum. You said that Sprint tried to replace the screen/ Did they tell yo uwhat they did? When you received it back from Sprint, what was their response to the non-working LCD? Good luck.
