LCD shows no picture

Replaced my buddies iMac hard drive (EMC 2389) and upon reassembly his LCD did not light up. Booted up fine. Chimed. 4th LED was not lit. We found that we damaged the LCD cable on the logic board end. We have purchased a replacement but saw no guide or instructions to replace that cable. Saw advice like, attach it via mother board first and then to the LCD last as it's easier and a more studier connector on the LCD vs logic board. Anyone ever had to do this? Have advice or a guide. Saw no pictures online or anything.

Go with the logicboard first then the LCD, but there is no surefire way. Whatever works for you will be the best way. Everybody is different and everybody has their own way of doing things.
